1.    essential steps towards a successful career planning

First you have to list all the valuable information about yourself such as your field of interests, your skills and abilities, values and roles. Some find themselves waking in one morning unhappy and dissatisfied towards their career because they fail to do the first step. In addition, you should also put in your list your preferred environment which you think you can work well not only about the place but also to those people who surrounds you. Also put in your list your developmental needs so that you can better asses yourself what you want to improve to become more competent individual. And, don’t forget your realities that everything could happen in life so you should know what your limitations are.

©      Options

Explore the jobs you are interested for. After that list only the jobs you think is possible to attain or those which will suite to what you wrote in the first step. Then, take specific information about nature of the jobs for instance after you narrow down your options.

©      Match

In this step, you have already identified the possible job you are interested for. Meaning, there should be alternatives so that if in case you did not succeeded to that job you still have other options to where you can apply. Consider the length of your alternatives.

©      Action

After you done the previous steps, this time you should be able to put it into action. Have sources of additional training and education so that there will be more to you rather than just depending to what you already knows. There should be a job search strategy like having magnificent senses where you can find a job easily, like an eagle hungry looking for its prey! (Nah, just kidding!) Next, it’s your time to write your resume. Make sure that your resume can inspire your target employer to read it and it’ll not be dispose automatically. Then, prepare yourself for the job interview! J

2.    Career planning is necessary in order to achieve your goals towards your chosen field.

It requires that you must know yourself, know what you really want and know what you hope for. You will also lead into assessing yourself why do you have to set goals and what is the significance when you attain it? Since teaching is a lifetime profession, do not only sticks on what position you have instead have dreams to pursue higher position to attain professional growth. Thus having career plan guides you on turning your dreams into reality by doing ways to achieve them. If you have plans towards your career or profession, at the very start you have then idea, decisions and alternatives to obtain it (professional growth).  The early you reach your goals the more you will gain trust to yourself, confidence and build positive attitudes.  An individual who might take too long in pursuing her/his dreams and possibly encounter problems.

3.   Interview with an Artist Teacher

I interviewed Mrs. Novalyn C. Rodolfo, 33 years old, who is also my cooperating teacher. She has the position of Teacher III and now teaching in Villa Cuizon Elementary School.  According to her, she has no reason why she entered teaching profession. It was just happen that she enrolled the course and able to finish it. Mrs. Rodolfo graduated Cum Laude at Central Luzon State University in the degree of Bachelor of Elementary Education, Major in Mathematics in the year 1999. In the year 2006, she finished her Master’s Degree at CLSU-Open University in which she major Educational Management and already have 15 units in Doctor’s Degree also in CLSU-Open University. Though she didn’t yet completed her Doctor’s Degree, I can say that she truly have the characteristics of which a seasoned teacher possess. She also shares her knowledge to young professionals especially to the aspirant teachers. She attends conferences and seminars to have more knowledge which she can apply to her profession and to others. Currently, it is now her 15 years in service.

She agreed that career planning plays a vital role for which it directs you to the goal you needed to attain within the time you set.
